SALES AND USE TAX

Notice to all residents:
On September 10, 2024 the City Council voted to collect the required State and Local Use Taxes for trash collection services from the consumer. It is the consumers responsiblity however, the City of Howardwick has been paying the taxes for years. Your trash bill will not increase but you will see a charge for tax. We have kept the trash rate the same even though we have seen rate increases. The City Council requested this change take effect on November 1, 2024.
